The UK Buyer’s Guide to Chelsey Smith Crowns Wigs
I’ve ordered a dozen Chelsey Smith Crowns wigs from the UK, and I’ve learned a lot along the way.
From figuring out which cap sizes fit best to dodging surprise customs fees and learning how the Wig Show drops work – this guide covers everything I wish I’d known before placing my first order. Whether you’re a first-time buyer or just looking for a smoother shopping experience, I’ve got you.
Cap Styles & Sizing
CSC provides detailed sizing information on each product page, which makes finding your perfect fit much easier. Measurements go beyond standard head circumference. Most listings also include ear-to-ear and crown-to-nape dimensions.
Many styles are available in small, standard, and large cap sizes. My head measures a petite 21.5″, and the petite sizes fit me perfectly in all styles except the t-parts, which tend to run slightly smaller and are less stretchy.

@syntheticdotstyle Wearing the cute and colourful Sharpay (short) in Rosy glow: a mid-length textured wavy wig with strawberry pink highlights and a burgundy root. It’s a lacefront t-part and I’m wearing petite – which is quite a tight fit on my 21.5 inch head. Styles & Colours
Each drop includes a mix of neutrals and bold, adventurous blends, think bubblegum pinks, vivid turquoise, and striking highlights. If you’re a colour lover, you’re in for a treat.
Chelsey’s background as a makeup artist and hair stylist really shines through in the attention to detail, every wig I’ve purchased is a work of art. Once you start exploring this brand (trust me: this will be your new obsession), you’ll see why so many women say CSC wigs have transformed their confidence.
Tip: Check Chelsey’s TikTok and Facebook Page to see colours in different lighting. They can look warmer or cooler depending on your screen and light source.

How the Wig Show Works (Limited Releases)
CSC’s most popular wigs are released during the “Wig Show”, held every second Tuesday. These are limited-run drops, and they often sell out within minutes.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Wigs are dropped in small batches and don’t always restock
- Styles are usually previewed on TikTok and Facebook the day before
- Have an account set up and payment details saved in advance
- Time zone tip: Drops usually happen in the evening UK time (CSC is based in California, so Pacific Timezone)
Tip: Check the official Facebook page on Monday on wig show weeks, and you’ll see a preview of the range of gorgeous styles that will be launched the following day.
Will I Get Hit With Import Charges?
Yes, unless you plan ahead.
CSC is based in the US, so UK orders are subject to:
- 20% VAT
- Customs processing fees
- Courier handling fees (e.g., DHL)
How to avoid extra fees:
To keep things simple:
Order one wig at a time, and ensure the total (including postage) stays under £135 (~$180 USD). This means VAT is collected at checkout and you won’t be charged again on delivery.
Chelsey’s team doesn’t adjust declared values, so keeping your order total under that threshold is key to avoiding surprise charges.
DHL Express is really fast to the UK. Every wig I’ve ordered has arrived faster than expected so far. DHL usually give an estimated delivery date, and I’ve found delivery is often 2-3 days before the estimation, so if you’re going to be away on holiday or not at home, keep an eye on the shipment progress on the app as you’ll have the option to redirect it or reschedule delivery.
Tip: Download the DHL Express app and register your email address in advance to make tracking your crown easier/more exciting.
My Chelsey Smith Crowns Wig Collection (So Far)
At time of writing, I’ve ordered 12 CSC wigs, including:
- 2 T-parts: Sharpay Short (a popular, recurring style) and Angie in Antique Rose
- 1 Headband wig in a beautiful Cherry Blossom shade
- Free-part styles: including Delevingne, Farris, Leigh, and Arden
One of my favourite things about CSC wigs is the lace. It’s soft, comfortable, and hugs my head perfectly for a secure fit. Just a word of caution: the lace is delicate and can stretch, so I recommend avoiding those open plastic wig stands that wrap around the cap. (I accidentally stretched my Delevingne in CBB using one.)
Also worth noting: t-part styles are generally less stretchy than free parts, so if you’re between sizes, you may want to size up.
The Wig Edit
The lace will need to be trimmed on your new Chelsey Smith Crowns wig, and you may find you need to do a little shaping around the ears so that the lace fits you perfectly. Here’s are a couple of videos where I share that process:
Tip: The team will cut it for free for you, so you can add lace cutting to your cart, but I’d encourage you to trim it yourself so that you can get the perfect fit for your personal hairline.

@syntheticdotstyle This is part 2 of making this gorgeous Delevingne wig fit me perfectly. I have a small forehead and low hairline, so need to remove some lace from the front of the wig that involves cutting into the hairline. This is easy to do and will prevent lace lifting or showing in future. #wigstyling ♬ original sound – Karen | Synthetic.Style

Crown Wear Tests: How My CSC Wigs Held Up Over Time
My most-worn crowns are from the Delevingne style range. My Delevingne in Cool Brunette Blend (CBB) arrived on August 20th, and I’ve worn it to every wedding (15 and counting!), venue visit, client meeting, and church rehearsal since.
It’s seen camera strap friction for hours on end, battled through torrential rain and even a storm, and it’s still going strong. There’s a little wear where my camera strap sits, but for something that’s been through this much action, it’s held up beautifully.
My Cherry Blossom Delevingne arrived just a few days earlier, on August 16th, and I’ve worn it almost daily since, usually for Zoom calls with SEO clients. That one’s on and off my head constantly and still looks great.
For brunch dates and evenings out, I reach for longer styles like Leigh and Farris. Because CSC crowns are limited edition and not easily replaceable, I tend to save them for special occasions or work days when I want to look polished (without the effort).
The biggest transformation? Confidence. I’ve never been able to style my natural hair in glam waves – it was too fine and thin to hold a shape. Now I have hair that looks incredible every time I step out the door. I only wish I’d discovered these crowns sooner.
